As promised, here's the second part for your listening pleasure. The first track (10) happens to be my favourite REM song. As an added bonus, I've included another rendition of Imitation Of Life, which was recorded two days earlier at Nulle Part Ailleurs show, Canal + Studio, Paris.
Enjoy.

I can see your point, what goes around, however I don't really mind my links being shared.
Yes, my links have been used on Hear Rock City, but at least my blog was mentioned. My links have appeared on numerous sites, most of which give me no credit. I've even noticed my downloads being reuploaded via different file sharing services and passed off as their own(they often can't be bothered altering my tags, hence the reason I know).
I would much rather there was no hotlinking, as numerous comments re my posts have been published, alas not on my site. However, my purpose is to share music which can't be purchased and the more sites that do this the better.
Feel free to "steal" my links. I don't really care. That aside, I understand that if you have spent some considerable time preparing your blog, then you may have cause for complaint.
I'll check out your site.
Cheers - Jon
Hi athlete,
You've got a great attitude. Which might help explain why your blog is so damned good.
As you're no doubt aware, it seems like there's a slightly different take on this subject from almost every blogger out there.
Most of us here don't mind the "piggybacking" of links either, but drew the line at taking the ENTIRE blog post (text, opinions, layouts, design, etc). To us... it wasn't sharing music - it was stealing blogs.
For some of us it wasn't even a matter of the "time" spent in putting things together. Though, as you know, that's an issue with some.
For some of those with new blogs, it was about trying to get up and running without someone stealing the blog "identity." It's not about "egos" as some have claimed. It's more about the "haves" and "have nots." Some of the new bloggers don't "have" audiences yet and want a chance to reach them with what they have to offer. It's hard when those offerings are taken (link, look, opinions and all) by more established blogs (a day after they are posted).
For others still... problems arose from attitudes encountered when we would try to talk about this issue with certain blog owners. Some are understanding and embrace a friendly community. But, there are some owners out there who are selfish, abrasive and confrontational. Even putting up posts taunting and baiting other bloggers, while refusing to honor requests to stop stealing entire blog posts. In some cases, stealing one after another from the same blog.
So... (as you already know - being a reasonable sounding guy) there are numerous angles and issues to the controversy - and we've all got our own take on it.
But when someone refuses to be a good spirited member of the community... well... then sometimes things escalate.
You've got a great original blog. And, it was nice of you to weigh in with a reasoned response.
Thanks, and all the best.
first Happy Cino De Mayo !!!
away from all thats going on
here's my take
anything / anyone post on the " net "
becomes open domain ...
If this was an ideal world ...
it's not !!!
When ever I post anything on the net I realize it can end up anywhere
So if I dont want you to read or
share I aint postin it
I've "borrowed" links to have sum
